Using Lil' Vector: The Palette Panel

The Palette Panel

Overview

The role of the Palette Panel is very simple: it's there to give you control over a shape's Fill and Stroke. There are 216 possible colors to choose from (217 including transparency), and there's a field where you can enter the Stroke's width as an integer.

Note that a Stroke with a width of 0 is considered transparent and won't be drawn.

Features and Controls

When you select a shape, the palette panel will change to reflect the shape's current Fill and Stroke. You can then use the left or right mouse button to assign it a new Fill or Stroke color - just click on the color you wish to use. The left mouse button assigns the Fill color, while the right button assigns the Stroke color.

As you move the mouse over the possible options, that color's hexadecimal value will be displayed in the upper left of the palette window.

Currently, the color options represent the Web Safe Palette, but in the future you may be able to create your own palettes.

Other Features

On smaller screens, the Palette Panel might get in the way of what you're trying to do. Thus, you have the option of temporarily hiding the Palette Panel by clicking on the X in its upper right corner. To show the window again, select "Palette Panel" from the Windows menu of the Main Window.
